The Audit is completed in a day although you will need to complete a pre-audit questionnaire.

If I am accredited under the CAPA Programme where is the information displayed?
Companies who have achieved accreditation will be listed on both Freight Traders Limited and Carrier Analysis Limited websites.

If my company is accredited under the CAPA Programme can I display the CAPA logo on my letterhead or my company website?
Yes. The CAPA logo is a mark of quality operation in road freight transport and may be used in this way all the time a valid Certificate of Compliance is in place.

We already have independent audits why would we need CAPA?
It depends on what audit programmes you already have and why.
Companies value audits for two main reasons.

· They give an objective and unbiased assessment of how well the business is performing in key areas.
· They are a means of assuring customers that high operational standards are being achieved.

CAPA is a new, quality audit system developed from within the industry with contributions from transport providers and shippers. The focus is on the practical effectiveness of day to day operations rather than systems in themselves.

If you have already participate in a scheme which has been specifically designed for, and is recognised by, a particular sector, for example the Chemical Industry SQAS audits then this will probably meet all your needs.

How often are CAPA accredited companies checked?
Normally accreditation audits are carried out every two years.

Can a Transport Provider lose it's accreditation between audits?
Yes. Under the programme continuous monitoring is through customer reports. Service level complaints against a CAPA accredited company are investigated and if justified accredited status can be withdrawn permanently or suspended pending a new audit. The whole purpose of CAPA is to promote the highest standards in the transport industry and we welcome feedback, good or bad, from anyone using a CAPA accredited transport provider.

CAPA is endorsed by Freight Traders Limited so is it only applicable to Transport Providers using their tendering facility?
No. Whilst the CAPA programme was developed in close cooperation with Freight Traders and their customers it provides a standard for the whole industry. Transport Providers do not have to be users of the Freight Traders site to benefit from CAPA audits.
